Theaters

Rockford has no downtown movie theaters. The Coronado Theatre, a restored 1927 movie palace, hosts the Rockford Symphony Orchestra and touring Broadway shows.

Sports

The Rockford Aviators of the independent Frontier League play in the suburb of Loves Park, northeast of the city. The Rockford Ice Hogs of the American Hockey League play at the BMO Harris Bank Center (1981).
